What is the transportation process of my vehicle after I receive an estimate?
Grifo Auto Transport requires a signed contract, or a deposit to secure a carrier. Our driver will contact you to arrange a pickup date of your vehicle. The driver will inspect the vehicle at time of pickup and complete a Bill of Lading, which you will both sign. The vehicle will be re-inspected at time of delivery. The driver will contact you in advance to arrange delivery, due to the size of our trucks, if the driver is unable to deliver to your preferred location arrangements will be made to meet at a convenient location such as a shopping mall or gas station in your area.
Will I need to be present during pickup or delivery of the vehicle?
We understand you may be not available during the delivery process and suggest a friend or relative should be present at the time of pickup and delivery to sign the paperwork needed and inspect the vehicle throughout the process.
How should I prepare the vehicle prior to pickup?
In order to ensure a smooth transition and provide safety for our driver, we suggest your vehicle is inspected for loose parts or leaking fluid. Due to weight restrictions and DOT regulations to help lessen the weight of your vehicle the gas tank should have 1/4 tank. If your vehicle is deemed inoperable be sure to notify us at the time of scheduling your pickup so we can allow our drivers ample time to load their trailer. Please remove specialty or custom items and personal items to prevent theft. If you have an electronic tag to pay for tolls, remove this item and store the tag in your glove box to avoid any charges while transporting your vehicle.
I noticed damage on my vehicle is the driver insured?
Yes, all drivers are required to meet state and federal requirements. If vehicle damage occurs at the time of delivery, be sure to note the damage(s) on the Bill of Lading during the time of inspection. The insurance carrier will request a copy of the Bill of Lading to process your claim.
What form of payment does your company accept?
Grifo Auto Transport accepts, cash, certified check and all major credit cards for the deposit and the remaining balance will be due at the time of delivery (C.O.D.) in the form of cash, money order or certified check made payable to the driver. Our payments are accepted using PayPal. There is a 3% processing fee for full payments.
What items can I store in my vehicle or trunk?
Due to Federal Regulations, Grifo Auto Transport does not authorize personal belongings in the vehicle nor are these items covered under any insurance carrier. If items are placed in the vehicle they are solely at your own risk, please read our terms and conditions. All drivers are subject to inspection at anytime by DOT and other traffic authorities.
