Orders placed with Grifo Auto Transport are under the following terms and conditions.  We must have this returned before scheduling your vehicle transport.  We appreciate the opportunity of doing business with you, and look forward to serving you again.

 

Paying for your order:  The deposit for standard and enclosed auto transportation orders may be paid by credit card, money order or certified cashiers check.  You can include your credit card information on the order confirmation form located under payment details or by logging onto our website www.grifoautotransport.com on the locations tab and clicking into Pay pal.  Please fill in your payment option and fax along with the signed Terms and Conditions.  The remaining balance must be paid to the carrier on delivery (C.O.D.) in cash, cashiers check or money order; no other form of payment will be accepted.  The quotation is an estimate and prices may vary subject to final approval of the customer.

 

Grifo Auto Transport will be sending you an email with the estimated pickup and delivery dates once we have your vehicle assigned to a carrier.  All dates are approximations and not guarantees.  There are many causes that can affect dates (i.e. weathers, traffic delays, road conditions, etc.)  The carrier should call 8-12 hours in advance to make arrangements for a time to pickup and deliver the vehicle.  In addition, the carrier and the person responsible for the vehicle will complete a thorough inspection of the vehicle.  The carrier will have an inspection sheet or Bill of Lading which the customer will sign.  Customer must note any damage they believe occurred during transit on the delivery bill of lading; Grifo Auto Transport and the carrier are not liable for any damages not included on the delivery bill of lading.  In addition, if the responsible party is not present for the delivery of the vehicle, the vehicle will be stored at the owner’s expense until the owner can pick up the vehicle from storage.  There may be times when the carrier will not be able to drive into certain destinations (door to door) due to weight restrictions, steep hills, over hanging trees, narrow streets, cul-de-sacs, etc and will arrange with the customer to meet at a gas station, grocery store, etc.

 

Refund policy:  In the event that we are not able to get your vehicle assigned to a carrier in 14 days you have the option of keeping your order open or canceling for the full refund of your deposit.  Once a carrier has been assigned for pickup and transport of the vehicle no deposit will be refunded.

 

Cancellation Fee:  If the customer places an order with Grifo Auto Transport to arrange for transportation of their vehicle and cancels within 14 days of placing an order we will charge a $75 cancellation fee.

 

Insurance:  Grifo Auto Transport is licensed by the Department of Transportation as a broker and does not transport vehicles.  Grifo Auto Transport only arranges for the transportation of vehicles by carrier on the customer’s behalf.  Customer hereby releases and holds Grifo Auto Transport harmless from any claims for negligence, or non-performance by the carrier which includes theft, loss, delivery delays or damage to vehicle(s).  The carrier is insured, and is responsible for the vehicle while in the carrier’s possession.  This insurance only covers damage due to the negligence of the driver.  All claims decisions will be decided by the carrier’s insurance company and considered final.  Grifo Auto Transport and its agents will not be responsible for vandalism, acts of God (flooding, hail, sandstorm, earthquakes, tornadoes, fire) or objects flying from the road during transport.  Customer should maintain their own insurance for these reasons.  If there were to be unfortunate damage to customer’s vehicle Grifo Auto Transport has carrier’s insurance information on file.  Grifo Auto Transport will no way accept responsibility for damages done by carriers or while the vehicle is in the carrier’s possession.  Grifo Auto Transport performs a license and insurance check on all of the carriers.  The customer will need to file any claims with the carrier’s company and insurance companies to be handled by them.

If damage should occur, all monies owed to the carrier must be paid to initiate the claim.  Damage must be noted on the Bill of Lading, and signed by the driver and shipper, regardless of weather or time of day.  Signing the Bill of Lading without any notation of damage verifies that shipper or its agent has received the vehicle in good condition and that Grifo Auto Transport and its agents are relived of any further responsibility.  Please check your vehicle thoroughly.

 

Any claim or controversy arising from or relating to this agreement, or the performance or breach thereof, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Essex County, Belleville, New Jersey.  Shipper specifically waives any right to have this matter resolved in any other county or location.  Grifo Auto Transport can only be liable for up to the amount of the deposit amount already paid to Grifo Auto Transport.  Grifo Auto Transport will support you in this effort should such a problem occur, but in no way will Grifo Auto Transport accept responsibility for any negligence of the assigned carrier.  Grifo Auto Transport will provide carriers insurance and carrier information should any controversy arise.

 

Non-operable vehicles:  A $150 INOP fee is applied to all vehicles not in operating condition.  This fee is included when your quote is given provided we had this information.  If the vehicle is not operable at the time of pick-up and was not included in the quite, additional fees may apply.  Additionally, if your vehicle becomes inoperable during transport, $150 will be due at the time of delivery in additional to the amount quoted.  It is the shipper’s responsibility to make sure the vehicle is in the proper working order.

 

If the vehicle is being picked up does not match the vehicle of which the quote/booking listed, additional fees may apply.

 

Please make sure your vehicle has less than half a tank of gas.  This helps lessen the weight for the carrier.  All personal goods must be removed from the vehicle. Please refer to our FAQ on our web page.  Grifo Auto Transport and its agents will not knowingly transport household goods in the vehicle.  Federal regulations prohibit Grifo Auto Transport from doing so.  If such items are shipped unbeknown to Grifo Auto Transport or its agents such items become the sole responsibility of the shipper.  Should damage or fines be levied, fines or damages are the shipper’s responsibility.  The customer is responsible for preparing the vehicle for auto transport by doing the following:

Customer should completely disarm the alarm system installed in the car and provide the keys to the alarm system.

The vehicle must be clean to allow for proper inspection at auto shipping pick up.

The customer verifies this vehicle is free of personal contents.

 

Grifo Auto Transport is a broker representing you the customer.  We arrange for the transportation of your vehicle by assigning a carrier to physically transport your vehicle.  Grifo Auto Transport is not responsible for vehicle rental fees or storage costs of any kind.  Grifo Auto Transport reserves the right to cancel your contract at any time.

 

In signing this agreement customer agrees to the terms and conditions as stated above.
