It's summer time, the kids are out of school, the weather is warmer and it's time for a vacation. Your vehicle will need maintenance before hitting the road.  The snow tires are off and your heater will get a break.  The warmer weather can have an affect on your vehicles performance and you want to be sure the air is working on those hot summer days.

Check all fluid levels as heat can evaporate liquid and you don't want to be stuck on the highway  with a non-working vehicle in the summer heat.

Inspect your tires, as heat can expand your tire pressure.  The PSI level is available in your owners manual and it would be useful to have a gauge handy in your vehicle.  Under-inflated tires can affect your steering and brakes.  Check the treading on your vehicle.

Keep your vehicle clean with a car wash, the dust / dirt and pollen can build up on your tires and vehicle which can ruin or scratch your paint.

A professional can inspect your vehicle for any issues concerning your engine.  It's safer for the owner to to have the following items available in your vehicle.

1.  A spare tire, in case you get a flat.

2.  Extra Coolant, in case your radiator over heats.

3.  Extra Water, mix with coolant.

4.  Emergency kit / Roadside Assistance Number
